I'm looking to buy a 1988 Sylvan 209 Barritz with the omc cobra 4.3 stern drive that has sat for five years... It?s leaking water out one side of the motor... It runs well it does not have water in the oil, it does not run hot. Unless the gage is broken. But we ran it for about 20 min... I?m not sure if the two holes are freeze plug holes or what... But it leaks badly it filled the backend of the boat up faster than the bilge pump could pump it out.

Amazing how you could run it for twenty minutes with water pouring out of the two missing core plugs and come to the conclusion it runs well and doesn't overheat.
I doubt there was ever enough water in the engine for you to discover the rest of the freeze cracks.

As Bondo said, that is a pile of junk and has an obsolete outdrive bolted to it.
