radar issue

hi guys,
i'm having an issue with the radar on my new boat. its a sitex radar, other than that i know nothing about it. the previous owner said that he never used it and that it may need attention. the unit turns on but thats it. after it goes through 90 seconds of standby it shows what i'm guessing is a normal screen, but it reads nothing. i can feel the transmitter turning inside its housing but thats it. i've never had a boat with radar befored and have no experience using them or troubleshooting. is this a problem that may have a simple solution or is replacing the unit likely the my best bet?

my earlier postsn't that clear so ill try my best to make it easier to understand....the everything turns on and goes through standby, and it feels like the antenna in the housing (radome?) is turning, but the transmitter bar, not sure if thats what its called on the screen does not rotate and no targets are displayed. the unit is a sitex t-150 if that is any help.
