bad Ground won't start ?

# 1 I have a 1973 wriedt jet boat .It won't start. The ground from the battery get hot.This is a project boat I took over.# 2 How does the motor get grounded since there is no frame ? It just turn just alittle then stops and goes cluck everytime u turn key

The neg post of the battery gets connected to the block of the motor. Look for signs of corrosion at the bas of the lugs on the cable. They can corrode inside where you can't see it causing a bad connection.

That is all good.I replaced the ground cable also
