Hello All,
I have a line on a good lower unit case that is in near perfect shape for a very good price. I need to know if the a lower unit off a

Force 150, Model: 1501X980 S/N 022027

will fit this outboard

Force 150, Model: X1508F9A S/N X18853

Any help is much appreciated

Re: Force 150 Lower Unit Fitment Question

""Force 150, Model: 1501X980 S/N 022027""

This model number is not correct, the 8 and 0 are incorrect. Most likely it is "1501X90D"

Anyway, yes the lower units should fit, as long as the driveshaft length is the same. (20 inch or 25 inch )

Re: Force 150 Lower Unit Fitment Question

Thank you for the info so far. I'm not sure what the actual model number on the donor LU is or if it is correct or not. Guy that is selling it has told me it is what I posted and if your telling me its not a good number then a may just pass on it. I would only be using the case if I did purchase and really need to know if the guts out of my LU will fit in the donor.

Re: Force 150 Lower Unit Fitment Question

Force had a thousand different model numbers. It is easy to mix up the inner numbers when you are writing it down. Roscoe was showing you the proper sequence for a Force model number.

Go to mercruiserparts.com or google doug russel parts and check the schematics there. The program will ask you for model numbers and you can check several and will notice that major units use the same part numbers because minor things were changed with model changes. Paint and decals, terminal strips vs bullet connectors, thermostat opening temps etc.

As we said before, if the shaft size is the same, they should interchange.
