gps speed on HDS-5

I just purchased a new Lowrance HDS-5 and my speed shows up on the chart screen but reads 0.0 on my sonar page. I,m new to the site and would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thanks in advance

I am not a Lowrance owner. One possibility is the speed on the sonar screen is for a paddlewheel and not gps. I would have thought it would default to gps, but go through you set-up and configuration screens. Otherwise, look to see if Lowrance has new firmware to load in the unit.

Not familiar with that model but it is correct that the sonar screen speed is from a separate speed and temp transducer on some Lowrance/Eagle units.

You can edit the data overlay on the sonar screen. Go into edit mode and see where the speed is selected from.
