Temperature buzzer test

On my 1974 Evinrude 50HP Lark motor can someone tell me how to test the warning buzzer for the temperature?Other than overheating the motor of course.LOL Just want to be sure its functioning properly.Thanks

Unplug the tan wire from the bullet connector near the thermostat.
The end that goes to the helm touch to ground.....you should hear the alarm.

Thanks Gary,a couple problems though.I do not know where the thermostat is on a boat motor.I do on a car though but that does no good..Also I will have to wait for the boy to get home as I cannot tell colors either,seriously..Anyway if I cannot figure it out I will take a pic of what I think is the thermostat and then maybe go from there...Thanks

Thermo switch on this motor is at the top of the exhaust cover, would be on the left side of the motor looking at the head.

Be aware you have only tested the buzzer & wiring, not the actual thermal switch.
