Why would both be blocked at the same time?
Rust and corrosion build up in boat manifolds at closely the same rate. At a certain point, the water flow from the raw water pump is slowed so much that it overheats.
This is especially true of boats in salt water, where manifolds only last typically 5 to 8 years. Most of the time when they do fail, they take the engine with them and you have one big pile of rust garbage.
