Hy, first post. I have a 1986 bayliner capri 19.5 with anAQ125B and a 270 outdrive. Had this boat for 20 years. Now A marine mechanic has just told me I have no motor mounts and he is surprised I haven't sunk. I have looked at parts paged and find One says this model has 2 mounts, one in the rear and one in front. Another one says there is one only in the front of the block. Now I discover on a forum some model apprantely didn't have a forward mount and I suspect was held in place at the transom to the outdrive. Am I nuts?

Lots of the 4 cyl. Volvos didn't have front motor mounts. They are supported by an adjustable pad in the bottom of the bellhousing. and mounted to the transom shield.

Time to find a different marine "mechanic".
This one is not.

Thanks guys. This really helps ease my mind. I couldn't think that in 20 years the transom didn't fall out or even get stress cracks

Re: motormounts

Volvo did sell a kit to add front mounts for rough usage at one time.
