I know this one may have come up a few times but can someone help:
I changed the impellor in my lower unit but in doing so i think i've dropped the spline out of the shifter. Currently the unit is stuck in forward drive and the shifter does nothing. I think the spline has jumped out at the bottom as it keeps rotating with no resistance whatsoever.
I'm a fairly competent engineer and just want to know if this can be solved by extracting the gears out of the unit and reseting the shifter spline back in. Does this make sense to anyone? Help would be much appreciated.
If anyone has any schematics of the lower unit that would also be very usefull.
