I recently bought an old 9.5 hp Johnson Seahorse ,short shaft/compact o/b mtr. Don't know the year of manuf'r but do have model-MQ-11C & also the serial # J2559092. It is a cream colored 'squatty' model with fold-up throttle arm & built-in carry handle. I need to know what spark plug type (NGK,Champion,etc) & what size or number for correct heat range to use primarily trolling. Please help me as i was'nt able to get spec manual for it locally & some prior owner removed the plugs when he stored it yrs ago.

Have a read thru the "TOP SECRET FILE" located second from the top lots of useful info in there ,I just got my first Evinrude,I crossed over from the dark side(Merc).I found out a ton of info and then some all for the cost of reading.

Your 1965 MQ-11 uses Champion J4C plugs gapped at .030".

Fuel mix is 50:1.
