1988 alumacraft when replacing a togle switch i noticed that when grounding it to the grounding lug the ground wire came in contact with the side of the boat and grounded an worked . Is this correct should the whole boat be grounded to the electric sys. I thought that the boat it self NOT be used for a ground, only the grounding lug. Can tell me if there a electric problem or is this normal to be able to ground to any metal part of the boat itself.
