Ok I know this sounds like a stupid question but I can't get the rotor off. I've read that they can be hard to get off but this is ridiculous. I don't want to screw something else up by using brute force. Anyone have any ideas?

They glue them on.... I don't know why. I've been able to pop them off with a couple of screw drivers. Sometimes you just have to bust them off.

They can be real fun, and some heat from a heat gun helps. 'nutcase

Manual describes it as using 2 large screwdrivers and prying it up .

Either way you remove it, stick a rag around its base to keep any small pieces from getting inside the mechanism. That would really mess up your day. Hy

Yeah, for some crazy reason Mercury suggests using Loktite to "glue" them on!

Another way to do it could be using a pair of Vice-grip pliers to break it without putting an upward "pull" on the dist.....
