Default mercury sport jet No CHoke?

Problem staritng my Sport Jet 120. Just had carbs rebuilt just purchased it. Runs flawless after it gets started. Or after it has been started the first time. I can see no fuel start circuit or Choke? Does this need a primer installed? anyone have this problem? Thanks Guess i should have stayed with the omc jet.

Mercury utilizes different choke systems on various models. What does the manual say?Mine has an electric choke, where ignition has to be swithed on (key click one), then the key has to be pushed a few seconds (feeds extra fuel to the carbs) before the key is finally turned to crank the engine. Works fine. One very cold days a little throttle (gear disengaged) may be needed.

Can't say what you have - only that several systems exist.Your manual certainly tells about (cold-)starts.
