Determine the year of engine

Hi
I am trying to find out the year of my force outboard engine. This will help identify the manual I want to order and a new impeller and or any other parts. Any help will be greatly appreciated. This is what I know so far.

The boat is a 16'6" center console South Seas 1986

The engine is a 70 HP Force

Numbers found on the engine are:

1400-819128 C1
W2
115C4C

Welcome to iboats.


Well, the 70 hp was made by Chrysler in
1970-71-72-73, and 1979.


It was made by Mercury in 1991-92-93-94-95

The numbers posted don't mean much, we need model and serial numbers. A photo of the ignition components would help also. 3 different ignitions were used just from 1991 to 1994.

I found out what year it is. It's a 1996. I tracked down the previous owner who still had reciepts for some minor repairs he had done. Thanks for your help.:)

Ummmm, sorry, but the 70 hp wasn't made in 1996.
If it was a 1996 model, it would be a 75 hp and have CDM ignition, which the motor doesn't have.

It does look like my 70 hp 1995 motor.

Is there an id tag on the starboard side of the transom bracket?
