Trim limit switch?

Rebuilding 1976 233 Mercruiser, Does not have any trim limit or sensor switch. Do I have to have one? Thanks, Brent

No, you don't have to have one.
It's very simple, if you trim too high, the prop starts coming out of the water, the rpm's get higher and your boat slows down.

might wanna keep in mind what your engines max recommended rpm is. If the you trim too high you dont want to peg the tach....
