Hello, I am a new boater and I have asked several questions already. So here is the next one. I have tried to do a little research on my motor. It is a mercury thunderbolt 50HP Merc 500. The serial number is 2214929. The way I see it is that it is a 1967 Merc 500. Is this right? And what should the gas oil ratio be? I am currently mixing 16 ounces of oil to 6 gallons of gas. Is this correct?

thanks

Yes. 16oz. (1 pint) per 6 US gallons is actually 48:1, but we usually call it 50:1.

Thank you. Can anyone verify that I have the right year? Based upon the serial number I think it is from 1967.
