Re: Tires
You said you have a 250 pound four wheel trailer. Did you really mean you have a trailer that weighs 2500 pounds and is a tandem axle unit? I can't believe you have tandem trailer that weighs 250 pounds nor is it likely that the trailer weighs 2500 pounds. So what is it you really have? What we do know is that you have four wheels to support the load. Look at any of the tire size charts on the web. Start with 13 inch tires and find the load rating for load range B, C, and D. Multiply one tires load capacity by 4 (four tires) to get the maximum load they can carry. Now add up the weight of the boat, motor, gas, gear, batteries, beer/soda, fishing tackle, etc AND the actual weight of the trailer (not the GVW). If the number is more than the maximum for the 13 inch load range you picked, go to the next load range. If that's still not enough, go to the next. You may end up with 14 inch tires. In any case, you cannot exceed the GVW for trailer.
