Hello,

I have a Mariner 75 HP 2 stroke of 1992
On my console there is a tachometer mounted No 15110A10490
When the motor is of the tach gives 1500 RPM/min
So I think the tach is not good working
Is there a possibility to adjust the tach?
I had it already out but can't open the ring and glass
On the back there is a knob whith 1, 2, 3, 4
Can anybody tell me in what position I have to set this knob
The motor has 3 cylindres.

Thanks for replies

The tacho sounds like it's working fine. Those tachos are 'unsprung', so will not drop back to zero when you shut them off.

It's working properly. Mine doesn't drop down either.

Allright,

Can anyone tell where to set the switch on the back
I can't read the sticker on the backside anymore
When I'm running at full speed the meter says over the 6000 rpm
I have the original prop installed

Weerix,

Post photos of the front and back of the tacho....

USUALLY the switch settings are:
1. 4 cyl 4stroke
2. 6 cyl 4 stroke
3. 8 cyl 4 stroke
4. 12 pole alternator (outboards)

As I said 'USUALLY'.....
