i have a 82 merc 50. i wired it to the key switch. i can start the motor but it will not turn off with the key. can anyone give me some ideas on what i did wrong with the wiring.
Do you have all necessary wires connected? You need to send voltage to the motor which your doing but some ignition switches need to be grounded to "short" the ignition system to stop spark.
