I was cleaning the shop and found a extra part from my water part pump kit. O dam. after looking up the part. It is a water pump cup. The new water pump is made of plastic the old is metal. I am thinking I need to drop the case and put this in. Would I be right. The impeller was already tight going in. does the cup cut down the wear on the plastic housing? 1973 65 hp Evinrude thanks.
