Has anyone used this material? supposed to be made by the same company that makes Sunbrella but is a little cheaper. I looked up the specs and Sunbrella is 9.25 wgt. while Dickson is 8.25 wgt but both are 100% solution dyed acrylic with 5 yr. warranty for both.

Re: Dickson fabric for mooring cover?

I am an upholsterer. I have used Dickson Marine fabric for many, many years without a single complaint.

It is not made by Sunbrella, but probably made by the same mill. It is a little lighter weight, but you would never know the difference unless you were in the field.

It is also about 2/3 the cost of Sunbrella and comes in almost every one of the color combinations.

You can use it with confidence.

Update-

I had the upholsterer use the Dickson fabric, two separate covers, one for the bow open area and the other for cockpit area. Looks really good, I hope it holds up well!
