Hi all!
I just registered with the forum today and have been looking around at the threads.. I must say this is going to be an EXCELLENT resource for me! I could have used this forum last summer for sure. We bought our first boat last year (april 09) and we are hooked to say the least! Unfortunately, myself and my friend (who has owned boats for years) failed to notice that the transom was almost completely rotten. It was no wonder the seller didn't bat an eye when I offered a grand less than his asking price.
Anyway, I will get into the details about last years boat owning experiences soon. I have several questions that I know will be answered here as well. I just wanted to introduce myself, and look forward to another fun filled summer boating on the Columbia!! (We're in Vancouver, WA)

OH.. if your wondering, my boat is an 89 Marlin, 21ft day cruiser with an OMC Cobra 350. I've never been much of a gear head, so I am learning about engine specs, etc..

Thanks in advance.. I look forward to getting to know you all!

Re: Greetings! Newbie here...

Thanks all!

Bond-o, I actually already fixed the transom last year. Took about 5 weeks and $1100, but now its better than new. I will post my experience in that thread when I get the chance. I am also switching to a 4 blade variable pitch prop this season, so I should have some good input there as well. Going to de-winterize this weekend.. I can't wait to fire her up!

Hasta for now..
