I am able to move my mercruiser outdrive left to right with my hand without the steering wheel moving. How can this be fixed and does it need to be fixed?
Ayuh,... You need somebody holding the wheel, while somebodyelse shakes the outdrive, so You can Look to see Where the slop is...
You can't fix Nothing, if you don't know Where the problem is...
