Guys, I'm back with more questions about fixing my tilt unit (2000 Johnson 50HP). I cleaned the whole thing and replaced the electric motor and got it working again on Saturday. Was working like a champ.
Then on Sunday it wouldn't work. I have gone through everything and the only thing I can think of is that there must be a leak. Not sure how it got there but I found a small BB-sized hole that's not supposed to be there essentially connecting the oil reservoir and one of the bolt holes. Here's a pic.

If I put on and tighten the other three bolts holding the trim motor onto the oil reservoir and then put my finger tightly over this fourth hole to seal it, the unit works. So my question is, how should I seal this hole? Squirt some silicon into it and wait for it to dry?
Thanks guys!
