help please

Hi I have a 65 johnson 18 hp i just got it runs good i am wanting to change the oil in the lower unit and anything else i can do to help keep the motor running. I have replaced the plugs and wires and the coils. but i am really not sure on how to even start on the oil any help would be great and how hard is it going to be thanks i am a newbie with boat motors

Hey there, bgtrucks54 welcome to iBoats. If you're bringing a classic such as this back from a long nap, the best thing you could do is open the top thread here, called the "Top Secret File" and that will give you lots of good tips for the matter. Good motor you have there. :cool:

New to outboards? Well rule #1 is get yourself a Service Manual. It will save you many bux and prevent expensive errors. Look here: www.outboardbooks.com.

Rule #2 is: Tell about your problem in the topic. NEVER just scream "help". Many guys won't even open a thread unless they have an idea what it is about.
