Advise please - Last year I had my 1992 electric start outboard 15hp tore apart and new rubber motor mounts replaced. When I got it back I had very little throttle twist movement in the handle. About a half inch of throttle. It run's smooth and idle's okay but it seems like I lost a lot of top end RPM and speed.

I have a diagram of the tiller handle parts assembly but not sure where the adjustment needs to be made or what steps to take. Any help would sure be apprecited.
Thank You.

Pull number 37 cotter pin out , remove 33-36 paying attention to how it goes back togther. This will remove the connection between the tiller handle control and advance on the mag plate. This will help you determine if there is an issue with the tiller control or the movement of the plate under the flywheel. Move both by hand to determine this.

With the motor off, remove the cover and verify that the throttle cable isn't binding somewhere. Also make sure the butterfly in the carb is horizontal at WOT. Sounds like you may need to make minor adjustments on the throttle linkage.

did you happen to figure out your problem, and if so, what did you do? i am having the same issue with about a 1/4 turn on mine. i am new to the tiller handle designs and am unsure what i need to do to allow the throttle to fully engage.
