I am thinking about milling the head on my motor and am needing input as to how much i can mill the head safely.

Outboard engines are NOT like auto engines and the same rules do not necessarily apply!

You can not remove more than .010 safely. HOWEVER: It is possible to mill .060 without having the piston contact the head. The increase in compression while increasing the BMEP of the engine will NOT yeild a significant increase in horsepower, you will probably see NO increase in speed, and very well may damage the engine. The increase in compression MAY require premium fuel; you may increase the likelihood of detonation.

In short, unless you are all-out modifying the engine for balls-to-the-wall race purposes, don't do it!

While I am a Chrysler and Force enthusiast, if you really want to go faster, the answer is to buy a Merc. However, Attached is a stock three cylinder 90 Force doing 55.
