I have a 1988 Sea Ray with the 350 Mercruiser. It had a sudden power loss and water mixing in oil. I did a compression test and saw 50 lbs on cylinder 4. I pulled the head gasket today and to my surprise the gasket was in tact, but i could see between cylinders 4 & 6 that exhaust was passing by. The block didn't have any cracks on it. Does this sounds like a warped head?

Sounds more like a blown head gasket. But 'why'd it blow' is the real question

I am pretty sure the engine overheated. I think the previous owner put a regular car water pump on because it was pretty corroded inside. The exhaust gasket next to the cylinders with the blown head gasket was torn on the top. I don't know if this would have anything to do with the blown head gasket, but it did look pretty bad.

Ayuh,... At the very least, I'd send the heads out to a machine Shop for a recon,...
And,...
Clean,+ check the block's deck for Flatness....
