where can i get a gen belt?66 lark 8

old kinda dry rotted and broke putting it back on,,,couldnt find one on iboats or was looking in the wrong place,,,is this a hard to get/find item?i saw where one guy had to pay 50 bucks for one for a 61 40hp,,,for that little bitty belt,,,guess i might have to too,,if i can even find one,,,would want it new cond for that kinda moolah

It is available from any Evinrude dealer, or direct from BRP http://shop.evinrude.com/ BRP's website only goes back to 1968, but that's ok, it is the same belt. Check it out--part number 307577 $61.41. The guy got lucky at 50 bucks.

thanks for looking out for me,woodonglass,,,,i looked at it,,but the part number is diff,,,,my part number from evinrude is,,307577,,,thanks tho man

No, the guy paid a 1000% markup.

I realize that I am dragging up an old thread here and it's probably too late for the OP, but I found this thread via google and so will the next guy. Obviously OMC buys the belts from Goodyear. Some research and spec sheets revealed that Goodyear's number is 255L037 and they are readily available for about $5 online. Also made by HTC for about the same price.

As an added bonus, these will be nice new fresh belts, not 30 year old dry-rotted NOS.
