Spark Plug Wires

Hello,

question:

I am having difficulty finding the original spark plug wire for my 1968 Johnson 65 hp v4 (#1). I have an available wire but it's 1.5 longer than the original. If I use this wire for the #1 cylinder will it affect the motor timing?

Also, when I run the motor this weekend should I think about checking the timing? I did replace the distributor cap, rotor, and breaker points a couple of weeks ago.

Believe it or not I think we have some of those old screw in wires at the shop. Let me know if you need me to look.

Wont hurt performance if the wire is slightly longer.

Yes. Please let me know what you have available. As of now, I do not have any backups and they are hard to find.
