It's a Mirrocraft model # 1263, 16 footer with a 20" inch transom.
It has three supports that brace the stern against the motor...does this mean it has a high horsepower rating? As you can see in the pics it used to have a steering wheel and i want to rebuild into a tiller. I have a 25 horsepower longshaft tiller motor (will this fit this boat?) and I wondered if it would be suitable for pushing it around or will be kind of a dog or underpowered?
Any tips or advice or suggestions? This will be my first rebuild project so I'm anxious to hear what yall think and to listen to any tips yall might have.

Thank you for your time.

The link only goes to the log in page.

Depending on the model year it should have a yellow tag someplace in the boat with max HP information on it, but 63 is too early to have it.

Most 16' aluminum boats will take a 25, but without even seeing the boat there's know way to tell.

Converting to a tiller? If it had a console and a steering wheel that "normally" allows for slightly higher power.

Placing a longshaft on a 20" transom is very common since shafts are measured and a 20" is a long shaft and a 25" is an extra long shaft.

If you need to mount the motor slightly higher you can build a bracket.

Yup..... the photo link leads to a log on...... if you need information on posting photos read the top three posts found here. http://forums.iboats.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32
