Broke off drill bit

While clearing the pilot hole on the lower unit, which I have done many times, I accidentally broke off my drill bit in the hole. Can i get to the problem by taking off the prop or totally removing the lower unit? Thanks. DB

i had a 1/8th drill be snap in a blind hole.

I took a flat screwdriver about the same size as the hole , use a dremel type tool to carefully cut the blade to fit in the flutes of the broken drill bit in the hole ended up with a very fine looking pitch fork.
i used it as a twisting tool to get the drill bit to move,
with some wd-40 a little patience i got it out . a good rare earth magnet may help too .
