Will I have transom problems with a MERC 850 engine on a Cadorette SKIPPER 146?

What's the boat rated for? I would not exceed that rating.

Got any pictures? That SOUNDS like it woud be a bit much on a 14'. I had an aluminum 16' that was rated to a max of 85.

Just did some googling. Is this the same as your boat? http://www.marinelamy.com/details/vehicule-15.html I see this one has a 90. I would assume that's the max rating so you should be ok with the 85.

Nice work, dead on. So it's got 90 Hp is that a 4 cycle or two cycle engine, I can't tell. Four cyclers are usually heavier to begin with
Thanks

The one in the link looks like a 2-stoke if I had to guess. It looks like an older Merc from the cowling. Being in French the ad doesn't help me much.

That's all it is though is a guess. Your 85 Merc should do fine on that rig.:)
