Formula Boats - General Question

We are looking at a 1984 Formula Cruiser - engine rebuilt 2 years ago. Does anyone have an opinion on Formula Boats?

For a good quality, highly durable, used, general recreational power boat to water ski around a cove, maybe take an overnight trip and sleep a couple of people underneath, any recommendations for boat types, or boat types to stay away from? Thanks, we are new to boating.

Formula boats are well made, but ANY boat that age will most likely have some issues.
A true cabin cruiser (stand-up interior) won't make a good ski boat, just as a good ski boat wouldn't make a good overnighter.
For a good all-around boat, look for a single engine cuddy cabin, maybe with a camper canvas, between 22- 26 feet. The interior will be spartan- little more than a pup tent- but they are perfectly suited for what you intend to do.
