Present setup is a Rochester 2GE carb (believed to be an automotive carb established thanks to don s) on a VP AQ211A engine, I?ve been searching for days now with no success, trying desperately to get an answer what i need to know. The present carb seems to be obsolete I can't get the carb nor any parts anywhere, so what i want to know is can i substitute a different carb in place and how to go about it

Re: Replacment Carb

I had the same carb as you have. To rebuild it was more expensive than buying a remanufactured one from Lordco Auto Parts here in BC, Canada. It came with a guarantee and a one page "brochure" explaining why it was a marine carb. The cost was $CAD120.00 and they waved the $CAD50.00 core charge when I presented them with the old carb. I think you can buy online so try this URL:

http://www.lordco.com/

Good luck:
