I Have A Great Running 1981 15 Hp Eska That Has Very Few Hours On It. She Cranks First Pull Everytime And Runs Like A Charm, Just One Little Problem It Wont Shift Into Forward At All. It Goes In To Nuetral And Reverse No Problem But Will Not Shift Forward Ive Looked Nothing Seems Bent Or Out Of Place In The Linkage Would Really Appreciate Some Info Or Suggestions No One In My Area Works On These Motors And I Really Dont Want To Throw Away A Good Running Motor Thanks A Million For Helping Out.

Welcome,
We will assume you have checked the shear pin and the prop is assembled on right.
You really need to find a service manual.Sometimes the library has them.
If your mechanically inclined the gearcase is pretty straight forward.
There is a reverse and forward gear free on trhe prop shaft allways driven by the drive shaft gear.A clutch dog is splined to the prop shaft between the gears.
it slides to engage the gears as selected. Baring some sort of drastic failure this dog
is simply not sliding far enough. Could be as simple as a loose screw or it has been assembled wrong.Finding parts will be an adventure.
