will muffs work on this motor?

just wondering if i can use flushing ear muffs on this outboard or will i need to use a bucket?
its a 1973 model 20hp

Muffs will not work. A garbage can works nicely. It has to be deep enough in the water to submerge the water pump (first bulge up from the flat plate)
