ONE QUICK QUESTION, I am just near finishing my 77' johnson 15hp project, the coils i have arent in the best shape and i dont want to risk them going bad on me. so i am wondering if its possible to use newer style coils in place of the old ones that are wired in with just the single plug.cut the plug wires near the coils and put a new end on it to connect to newer coils...is there any difference in the coils besides style and being hardwired?
