Shift pin??? Maybe you're talking about a driveshaft pin? Any idea of the year and horsepower of the engine, I can't see it from here....

3 cylinder 50hp engines didn't start until 1986. Please post engine serial number.

Re: shift pin on drive shaft HELP!!!

It shows on my system as a 1981 50hp, but it has 4 cylinders....

Ok, driveshaft pin... None of the manuals I have show a replacement procedure, but the parts listing shows a part number for it and the spring below it. I do know that it's retained by peening the top of the driveshaft. What I would do is to open up the peens and remove the broken pin and spring, then get a new one and put a couple of new peens in.

Good luck.........

Re: shift pin on drive shaft HELP!!!

Part number for a new drive pin is 17-30545, for the spring 24-20254. And check the bottom of the crankshaft to ensure the old pin is gone.
