I am currently redoing the deck in my boat and discovered a large crack near the bow of the boat in the center of the hull. I was wondering what the best way to fix this was. I outlined the area that is cracked in the attached picture. I was thinking a good coat of glass from the inside would be the best fix but would love some suggestions.

Re: Cracked hull

Does it go all the way through the hull to the outside? Is the keel of the boat filled? It is possible the crack you see is the result of the manufacturer pouring resin in to the keel to fill that area. If that is the case, it may not be a big deal. If the crack does go all the way through, a simple coat of resin is not enough. You are going to have to grind back the crack and repair it right with resin and glass.

Re: Cracked hull

the crack goes through im pretty sure this is where water was getting into my boat. i had no intentions of just pouring resin for a filler. i will glass it in best i can. thanks for the advice.
