Hi guys,

We've just purchased a pre-loved boat which has an outboard engine on the back that says "Mercury 1500P" across the cover. These are the things I know about it.

i know its a blue-band 150hp 2-stroke in-line 6, but I'm unsure of what year.

I've looked around on some sites trying to work it out and Ive found that it would need to be either a 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1978 or a 1979 model being the only years they made the mercury 1500.

It also has a sticker on the back of it that says: (Timing 104 BTDC 21?)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: Mercury 1500P??? :(

Thanks MIKEY*2007, I created a new post:

Attn: Laddies -> (Mercury blueband 1500P in-line 6) in the Mercury & Mariner Outboards section. I will continue with my queries there.

Thanks for the help.
