Hello -

I've got a 25HP johnson that has become difficult to start. In order to crank it up I have to take off the cover and put my hand over the air intake so the motor sucks up enough gas to crank. I think my problem may be my electric primer.

My question is how do I tell if my electric primer is working properly?

Re: 25 HP Johnson - Electric Primer

so i assume you have an electric start motor, but unknown year and model. turn the key to on,, press key in you should here solenoid click. also you can remove the primer line to the carb, and see if fuel comes out when the primer is activated. the fuel line bulb must be pumped up to do this test.
