Man on man do I have a house fire. Picked up a 77 merc 150 V-6, compression a little uneven, rough on idle, decided for a good decarb.

I ran two cans of seafoam in two gallons of gas through it, and probably about 3-4 gallons of regular gas so far, and she is still smokin like a house fire. Probably an 1-2 hours run time and still smoke.
Neighbors stopped by this evening cracking jokes about all the smoke coming from the barn.

When will it stop?

When you get all the crud blown out. Apparently you obtained a gunked up engine. The solvent soaked into the gunk and it will take time to burn through it. Don't forget to re do your sparkplugs when it cleans up.

Then for maintenance, run Sea Foam in your gas, per the instructions on the can (1 oz per gallon for maint as I recall). As far as your fuel-oil ratio, don't worry about it as it takes care of it'self...alcohol, naptha, mineral oil.
