dumb question

Can anyone explain to me what the 2 holes on the leg directly under the powerhead are. They seem to be some kind of exhaust system as as they are piped from the chamber. Just curious since the regular exhaust is thru the hub.

exhaust relief, when the motor is idling. at idle there is not enough exhaust pressure, to push it out the prop. this is the main reason for final tuning of your motor in the water.

Thank You. That explains why when I am fishing in small no wake lakes, there is always small amounts of oil running from those holes at the end of the day.
