I have recently bought a late 70's 6hp johnson short shaft. It was previously used with controls and I need a tiller arm. I have been unable to find one on Ebay. Is the 6hp arm the same as the 9.9 or 15?

I think all the small tillers are interchangeable.I have put a 9.5 on a 35.Some are a little heavier than others but the gears all mesh ok.

I'm pretty sure the arms are different.
props are, shift & throttle components are, almost nothing seems to fit (I have tried)

Anyway, pics of the remote control stuff? Maybe we could trade?

jp498, Nah the 6 and the 9.9/15 are so totally different, they aren't even on the same planet.

I agree. The 6's are still carrying the same basic design from the 50's and the 9.9's are the newer sleek design of the 70's and 80's. I'm sure you could find a tiller arm for a 9.9 just as easy though.
