My 1999 Yamaha 90C 2 stroke runs fine, never replaced the fuel pump. Should I buy a new pump and put it on, keeping the old pump for a spare, or buy a new pump and keep it in my tool box and wait for original pump to wear out/die, or just forget this and assume the pump will keep on running? The new pump is about $40. Do these pumps have any usual life-span? That old saying,"if it ain't broke, don't fix it" may not apply here, like with a water pump impeller? Thanks for any ideas on this.
