45hp-55Hp water pump interchage?

:D Hello guys. Quick question on a 1972 559Hd Chrysler outboard.
Can the water pump housing and plate be used on the same year 45hp and the 55hp?:confused:

If the 45 and 55 are both single carb engines, then most likely the pumps will interchange. The lower units were the same, with the same gear ratio.

In this series of engines, some pumps were held with three screws in earlier years (around 67) and later years (I think) were held with 4 screws.
