I have twin 1989 Evinrude 140 motors on my boat. While rebuilding the carbs I noticed that I had 3 different sized high speed jets for both engines (2 x 54, 2 x 50 & 4 x 47). All of the low speed jets are 41. Does this sound right? The evinrude website says the high speed jets should be 54. Is there any reason for the diffrent size jets? Port motor has 2 50 and 2 47 jets and idles very rough. The stbd motor has 2 54 and 2 47 jets and it idles fine. Both motors appear to run fine at WOT but I can only get 5100 rpms out of them. Any input would be appreciated.

The idle jets should all be 41 and the high speed should all be 63D.

The intermediate air bleed should all be 54 on the 140 carburetors (0432903).

The 120 used 50 on their carburetors (0432902).

It's possible that you have a set of 120 carbs.

That's what I suspected, the high speed is 63d on all carbs. What Problems would I see with the motors the way they were jetted? Anyone have
6 #54 jets? Could I drill out my 47 & 50 jets to make them 54?

I would not take chances on any of the orifices. Get them new through any BRP authorized dealer - #54 = part #0334014.
