I live in the Seattle area. It looks like these old Larson's are good boats.
-Low budget less $5K, preferably less than $3k.
-Towing capacity ~3600#~3800#
-To be used primarily in the Puget Sound for crabbing, tubing, fishing, and skiing, it will be bouyed ~ week at a time in summer so it will rest on beach at low tide. It has been suggested that an OB would be preferable to I/O due to the salt water and beaching. Also, some say OB's are more durable and less maintenance. I worry about deadheads, so a well built hull with flotation appeals to me.
-I don't have time or desire to rebuild/restore. My children are 5&7.
I like the Volero's and All American's that I have seen. I am not in a hurry. Any suggestions as the what to look for what to avoid? What other manufacturers would fit the bill and would you recommend?
Thank you and all the best,
JWS
