My Johnson runs and starts okay but when i have the trottle wide open it bogs down until i have throttle about three quarters the way open. I was told it could be the fuel pump or the stater.

I anyone have any ideas?

Try it again and when it starts to bog down pump the primer bulb. If it acts like it wants to go then rebuild the fuel pump.

Or you have dirt in the main jet of the carb restricting fuel flow causing it to bog at WOT. Fuel pump, maybe but carb clean first. Stator, doubtful.

Well, I had found what the problem was!!! Two things: first was that when I had clean the carbutator i left the main gas line hose clamp loose and the other was that when I checked the fuel pump i didnt have it seated just right and it was sucking air.

Thanks duhunter for writing back what the problem was. Many times people don't let us know what worked, and what didn't. Welcome to iboats!
